Cookery Course (Friday 27/1/12)

This week we made rock buns here is the recipe;

Rock Buns (makes about 16)

8oz (225g) Self Raising flour

1 pinch of salt

2oz (50g) caster sugar

4oz (100g) margarine

3oz (75g) chocolate chips

1 medium egg

milk to mix

1. Preheat the oven to 200 c / gas mark 6.
2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
3. Mix the salt and flour into a mixing bowl and cut the margarine into cubes.
4. Using your fingertips lightly rub the margarine into the flour until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Don’t over rub.
5. Stir in the sugar and chocolate chips.
6. Mix into a stiff dough with egg and milk.
7. Place in rough heaps on the baking tray.
8. Bake the buns in the top of the oven for about 10 - 15 minutes.
9. Cool on a wire rack.

HARRY POTTER SEMESTER 2

Our first semester ended with a lot of fun as everyone tried 'Bertie Botts Any flavour sweets ! Only one person got a nice flavour, everyone else got something a bit unusual, like toothpaste flavour. Yuck !
This semester we have another set of aspiring wizards.

The 'Sorting Shoal' decided which house everyone should go into. We have a lot of Hufflepuffs this Semester.

Everyone made their own wands and Harry glasses.

Casting spells with style had to be practised.

They're getting good.

A popcorn party whilst we catch up on 'The Chamber of Secrets'
